By the time I clear out the drummers, partridges, ladies and those damn swans, all I’m fit to do for those twelve days is curl up in the front of the fire with a single malt and a stack of stuff to read. Here are some things to read that will banish the sugar plums and get you ready for another year in the B2B trenches. Happy Holidays, everyone.
A commandment in a content tree: OK it’s 30 commandments and it’s on the Content Marketing Institute’s excellent website. But they’re good things to remember if you’re cranking out the content.
Two things to read about B2B Pricing: Start with this white paper from the good people at B2B International and then spend a little time on the Vendavo blog.
Three things that probably suck about your website and how to fix them by Susan Fantle on her B2BMarketingSmarts blog. (note, this blog is gone, but Susan’s still out there)
Four ways to build a customer-centric strategy: A succinct article just for B2B from the good people at Marketing Sherpa. Click this one before Christmas Day because it goes premium after that.
Five Marketing Imperatives: From the wonderful folks at Velocity, their famous manifesto.
Six Links from Six Pixels: In which Mitch Joel serves up version 25 of his favourite links to share. Always worth the time.
Seven Infectious Diseases: A brilliant e-book for B2B marketers generously shared by Kathryn Roy of Precision Thinking.
Eight Ways Unfu*k Your Presentations: I can’t count the number of people I’ve sent this link. I also can’t count the number of people I would like to send this to because their presentations suck but I’m terrified to tell them. Even if you know what you’re doing, this is worth a look about once a quarter. Thank you Jessedee! (@jessedee)
Nine Metrics for Email Measurement in a handy Marketing Sherpa chart without a lot of unnecessary words. Good thing to throw in that KPI file and read when you sober up.
Ten Dumb-Ass Mistakes: Not limited, you will be happy to know, to marketing, here are ten things not to do by Art Petty from his Management Excellence blog.
Eleven Sources of B2B Customer Information, and a kind of damning article from MarketingProfs about how much we suck at turning information into engagement.
Twelve Lords of Content: Well, twelve fairly smart people Explain How to Measure the ROI of content in this excellent blog post.
